NVA conducted a talk program on "Enhanced Disease Surveillance in Canada" in CVL, Tripureswor, Kathmandu on July 26 2010. Dr. Bijay Adhikari a Nepalese veterinarian and currently engaged in Saskatchewan Ministry of Health, Canada as Communicable disease epidemiologist delivered his one hour long talk program in the above said topic. Around 45 veterinarians, veterinary students and faculty from IAAS, Rampur and HICAST were presnt in the program. Senior vets Dr. D.D. Joshi, Dr. N.P.S Karki, Dr. R.K. Khatiwada, Dr. N.P.Ghimire, Dr. S.K Shah were also present in the program.
The talk was mainly focussed in surveillance system carried out at Canada, criteria for prioritization of reportable diseases, disease ranking for surveillance and a protocol followed while reporting a reportable disease in Canada and surveillance process as a whole.
Dr. Adhikari who graduated from IAAS Rampur as a first batch under regular BVSc & AH program is a post doctorate from American University.
