Kathmandu, March 28:
Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai Wednesday called upon all to extend support to accomplish the twin tasks of peace and statute writing within the stipulated timeframe.
"No one could escape from the responsibility of completing the peace process under any pretexts so all should lend their helping hand to concluding the peace and constitution drafting processes on time," Premier Dr. Bhattarai said while opening 10th Annual General Meeting of Nepal Veterinary Association in Kathmandu.
On the occasion, Prime Minister Bhattarai expressed his commitment to double the national budget for the agricultural sector in the upcoming national budget.
He said that he had already instructed to the concerned bodies to increase the budget for the agriculture sector by twofold in the next year.
The PM informed that around seven percent of the total national budget had been allocated to the agriculture sector.
The government is always ready to solve the problems facing the veterinary sector, he said, adding that the veterinarians should be dedicated to their profession.
President of World Veterinary Association, Dr F Kechrid pointed out the need of giving priority to the development and promotion of the livestock service sector.
President of Nepal Veterinary Association, Dr A Pradhan suggested that the government should pay its attention to the development of veterinary sector.
Around 400 veterinarians from home and abroad are taking part in the two-day meeting.
